I'm very interested in different permutations of the twelve tribes (or things corresponding to them) appear. I think I read something somewhere about permutations of the tribes in revelation doing something really interesting relative to the breastplate order, more complicated than just a reversal but still structured, was that you?
From two permutations you can form many permutations by composition, and there are some very interesting permutation groups on 12 points... 👀
The gemstones being reversed is really interesting! Thanks for that detail James.
Re “the world being rewound to a pre-fall state”. Do you remember that a while ago I asked you whether you’d ever come across the idea that the Bible is a grand chiasm? This post of yours is outlining some of the lineaments of that chiasm.
PS If you use this idea, I’d appreciate it if you give me credit. 😉
I don’t recall the conversation that you’re referring to, but your observation—like most good observations—is one that many people have made. A Bible teacher whom I grew up listening to always used to liken the Bible to a loaf of bread, saying that it ended with the same shape with which it started.
That’s funny because when I first mentioned it you said you’d never before heard anyone say the Bible is a grand chiasm. Must have had a brain glitch! 🫠

I don’t *think* it was me. I wish it had been.

Yes, I suppose it is. Thank you!

One of many!
Here is a very general outline of the grand narrative of Scripture as a chiastic structure...https://www.chiasticstructures.com/Chiastic-Structures/Entries/2017/9/the-grand-narrative-chiastic-structure-of-the-bible
Thanks Todd.
